Terms

MakeTheBadge is free to use, with no account and no payment. These terms are short because the service is small.

What you make is yours

The badges, designs, PDFs and images you create belong to you. Use them commercially, print them, sell tickets against them, hand them out at your event. We claim no rights over them, and we could not exercise any if we did — we never receive them.

The templates

The templates that ship with the tool are starting points you may use and change freely, including for commercial work. Any logo, photograph or wording you add to one remains your responsibility, including that you are allowed to use it.

Your work is stored on your device

Projects are saved in your browser’s local storage, not on a server. That means clearing your browsing data, using a private window, or switching to another browser or machine will lose the project. Download the PDF for anything you need to keep. We cannot recover a project for you, because we never had it.

Provided as it is

The tool is provided without warranty. Print a single test page and check it against a real badge holder before printing four hundred — printers, drivers and paper stock vary, and a scaling setting in a print dialog can change the finished size. We are not liable for wasted paper, missed events or badges that do not fit their holders.

Fair use

Do not use MakeTheBadge to produce forged identity documents, passes impersonating an organisation you are not part of, or anything designed to gain access somewhere you are not entitled to be. Making a staff card for your own staff is what this is for; making one for somebody else’s building is not.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. The current version is always the one on this page.
